Some renovated Iranian classics to screen at the 37th Fajr International Film Festival have been announced.

This edition of the Iranian film event has picked some five of the most popular Iranian films of the 80s to restore and show.

The announced titles are ‘The Runner’ by Amir Naderi, ‘The Scout’ by Ebrahim Hatamikia, Dariush Farhang’s ‘The Spell’, ‘Frosty Roads’ by Masoud Jafari-Jozani and ‘The Last Action’ directed by Varuzh Karim-Masihi.

According to a media report, the international titles that will attend this section of the festival will be announced in the days that follow.

Established in 1982, the Fajr International Film Festival celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.

Since its establishment, the Fajr Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of the Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.

The 37th International Fajr Film Festival is scheduled to take place in the country’s capital of Tehran on April 18-26, 2019.
